Who We Are

It all started when

… it became clear that our ministries would be more effective if we pooled our resources where possible while maintaining our respective identities. We launched the Tri-County Lutheran Parish in the Autumn of 2017.

We started out as an eight-point parish, located within three counties, ranging from blue collar to professional. The areas range from rural to bedroom community. The parish is centrally located between mountains and rivers, with easy access to bigger cities. The biggest employers are in government, education and health care with a significant number of retirees. The area is also a weekend and summer home to people wanting to enjoy the beauty of the area and get out of a large city. With the closure of St. Paul’s in Oak Hill and Emanuel/St. John’s in Hudson, we now are a six-point parish.

We are excited about this new ministry and have been living into a vision of six congregations working together as one parish, sharing their time and talents to perform the ministry of God. Together, the parish and the pastors that are called, will explore the available gifts and define what that ministry will look like. The gifts are many and varied, and include a strong lay leadership program.

Our current programs for mission and ministry include: Free Tuesday Suppers, Scouts, Al Anon, Narc Anon, Head Start, Sean’s Run, Food Pantries, DSS-Adopt a family, Compassion International, CROP Walk, Nursing home service, Retirement village services, Maritime ministry, Outreach dinners, Blood drives, Prayer care, Worship & Bible studies, Yard sales (giveaways), and strong ecumenical cooperation
