Sunday worship at 8:30 AM

Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stuyvesant Falls, NY was established in October, 1919. A physically small Reconciling in Christ church, Emanuel is known as the little church with the big heart and a big message. Despite the size of the church, Emanuel is very active.

Emanuel reaches out to the community as needed; holds an annual Father’s Day pancake breakfast (which this year will honor and support veterans) and an annual apple festival. (All proceeds are used for local benevolence.)

Emanuel supports the higher church on the conference and synodical level. They have two fully trained conference deacons who lead worship throughout the conference on an as-needed basis.

With their sister church, St. Luke’s in Valatie, Emanuel has helped train several seminarians on their way to becoming pastors, (including the current Dean of the Hudson/Mohawk Conference); participates in Tuesday night free dinners; supports CROP Walk; helped plan and host a Lutheran revival; is part of an active WELCA chapter, which participates in various global programs such as “Dresses for Little Girls,” health care kits, and blankets for the military. Emanuel has also been a supporter of the St. Paul’s Center for Women and Children in Rensselaer, NY.

Emanuel supports Lutheran World Relief; is a full supportive partner to our companion synod in Zimbabwe—which helped lead to a Zimbabwe choir touring New York State. Emanuel supports a Compassion International child in Tanzania, and in past years, supported a seminary in Russia.
