In 1826, St. Luke's Lutheran Church was organized as a mission of Christ Lutheran Church in Ghent - about 15 miles away. The present church building was built in 1970. It has since sustained a fire , the subsequent remodeling, and 2 additions, one providing classroom and office space and the other an expansion of the narthex and choir loft.

The congregation has involved lay people, an active Outreach Ministry, and a lively Women's Group. Its building is used by a small Spanish speaking congregation and by many community groups.

St. Luke's and Emanuel Lutheran Church in Stuyvesant Falls were happily linked in ministry and mission for more than 45 years. St. Luke's looks forward to a similar relationship within the evolving Tri-County Lutheran Parish.
