Sunday Worship at 8:30 AM
Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stuyvesant Falls, NY was established in October, 1919. A physically small Reconciling in Christ church, Emanuel is known as the little church with the big heart and a big message. Despite the size of the church, Emanuel is very active. and supports the higher church on the conference and synodical level.
Emanuel reaches out to the community as needed; holds an annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper, this year on Saturday March 8, 8-11 am and a Father’s Day Weekend blueberry pancake breakfast (which honors and supports veterans) and for many years, an annual apple festival. (All proceeds are used for local benevolence.)
Along with the other churches in the Tri-County Lutheran Parish (TCLP), Emanuel has helped train several seminarians on their way to becoming pastors, including a past Dean of the Hudson/Mohawk Conference. Emanuel participates in providing Tuesday night free dinners, has supported the CROP Walk, and has provided meals for te workers of Habitat for Humanity. We have provided the Maritime Ministry with Christmas boxes, and Christmas gifts for the St. Paul’s Center for Women and Children in Rensselaer, NY, several families in need, and the elderly in local nursing homes.
Emanuel has always been very supportive of our veterans and military, and has been providing help to the active and wounded service men and women through the Landsluhl Hospital Care Project and Chaplain’s Closet in Germany. Also, we worked with the Kinderhook Reformed Church in their Rise Against Hunger Project.
Emanuel supports Lutheran World Relief which provides help for the recovery from many major disasters that occur in our country as well as around the world. Emanuel continues to support a Compassion International child in Ghana and previously supported a child in Tanzania.
